BRAC | Building Resources Across Communities
BRAC is Living Goods’ vital joint venture partner in Uganda. One of the early pioneers of micro finance, today BRAC is one of the world’s largest, most efficient and effective development organizations. Operating in Bangladesh since the 1970s, it serves over five million micro credit borrowers and operates its lending profitably, despite charging below market interest. BRAC implements truly integrated development programs encompassing not just lending but agriculture, education, health and industrial development. Uganda Ministry of Health
From its first days in Uganda, Living Goods has worked closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH). Living Goods is committed to collaborating effectively with MOH staff at all levels and operating in close alignment with MOH goals. Living Goods aims to lower the burden on district health centers by treating basic illnesses at the village level and by reducing overall rates of infection. The Ministry has been highly supportive of and responsive to Living Goods. Dr. Sam Okware, the Director of Community Health Services and Mr. Paul Kagwa in particular have been key sponsors providing invaluable feedback, resources and coordination.

Draper Richards Foundation
The Draper Richards Foundation provides emerging social entrepreneurs with critical seed funding. DRF awarded Living Goods a fellowship in 2007. The Draper Richards Fellowships are highly selective with only six awarded per year. DRF was founded in 2002 by William H. Draper, III and Robin Richards Donohoe, venture capitalists who have run highly successful funds together and believe in the power of innovation and passionate individuals to change the world. Poverty Action Lab The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a consortium of top academics from MIT, Harvard, Yale, Berkeley and others with the shared aim of improving the effectiveness of anti poverty programs by providing policy makers with clear scientific results that help shape successful strategies.
